Hope was a third-round draft pick by the Steelers in 2002. He became a full-time starter at free safety last year and tied for second on the team with 97 tackles. He was also second behind James Farrior with 72 solo tackles. Hope intercepted a pass and defensed nine passes last year.
Haynes was third on the team in rushing with 272 yards on 55 carries (4.9 avg.). The primary back on passing downs, Haynes was fourth on the team with 18 catches for 142 yards (7.9).
Haynes and the Steelers are not negotiating a new contract. His options are to sign the one-year tender or not play.
