The Steelers today released tight end Matt Cushing to make room for new
long-snapper Dan O'Leary, a former sixth-round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills.
O'Leary (6-3, 248) played collegiately at Notre Dame, where he was a tight end, before the Bills drafted him in 2001. He played in the first eight games that season before a wrist injury cut the season short. O'Leary will wear uniform No. 81 with the Steelers.
