The Steelers cut down to 75 players Monday with a few surprises involved. One veteran was cut and there was no surprise there at all.

The Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday cut the following 10 players:

RB Kevan Barlow, RB Larry Croom, WR Eric Fowler, WR Dan Sheldon, OL Donovan Raiola, DE Derrick Jones, ILB Richard Koonce, LS Jared Retkofsky, PK Connor Hughes and P Mike Barr.

Players who have spent no more than two previous seasons on a practice squad (season = three games) and who've been on an active list for fewer than nine regular-season games during their only accrued season in the NFL, are eligible to be called back to the team's practice squad following the final cut to 53 on Sept. 1.
