  • Steelers are 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the division
  • Bengals are 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the division

Linebacker Brian Simmons (neck stinger) remains questionable for Sunday and will not practice until Friday. Cornerback Artrell Hawkins (knee) and right tackle Willie Anderson (neck) are probable.

If Simmons can't play, outside linebacker Adrian Ross would move to the middle, and Canute Curtis would play the other outside spot opposite Takeo Spikes.

The Last Meeting:
Bengals pulled a 26-23 overtime upset. John Kitna passed for 410 yds with 68 attempts.

Canute Curtis had 9 tackles, 6 Solo; and Kevin Kaesviharn had 2 interceptions. The Bengals collected 4 INT's, all from Kordell Stewart.

The tying touchdown that day was caught by Bengals receiver Danny Farmer, who was the fourth-round draft pick of the Steelers in 2000 before his release at the end of training camp. Extra point by Neil Rackers was not good  and sent the game into overtime. Neil Rackers kicked a 31-yard field goal for the win in overtime.

  • Keys to beat Pittsburgh
    Offensively: Misdirection , Deep ball.
Defensively: Pittsburgh likes to throw quick outs so play press coverage, force XFL star to throw easy picks.

Bengal's Quote of the Week: “If we win, “I will dive into the Ohio River. ”Dick LeBeau

Linebacker Kendrell Bell still suffers from his ankle injury. With the poor playing conditions that have been discussed by many NFL players at Paul Brown Stadium, Bell may sit out another game and not risk further injury.

Larry Foote, who has replaced Bell, will make the start.

The Last Meeting:
The Bengals pulled a 26-23 overtime upset.  Plaxico Burress had 102 yards and 2 TD's. The Steelers kept Corey Dillion to 90 yards rushing and the Bengals kept Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala to 55 yards rushing.

Dewayne Washington lead the Steelers with 17 tackles, 13 Solo.

The last two possessions the Steelers had to win the game resulted in the first two plays being penalties, pushing them back 10, and 5 yards. Kordell Stewart then threw an interception that resulted in the Steelers not being able to move downfield to a possible win.

  • Keys to beat Cincinnati
Offensively: Screen Passes, misdirection and middle of the field.
Defensively: Bengals like to use Dillon early to test run defense. Bengals like to throw the quick outs. Did not throw deep much early this year until John Kitna took over at QB. Kitna likes going for the deep ball, WR Chad Johnson lined up on Dewayne Washington will be the match-up they look to.

Steelers Quote of the Week:  "I'm not going to discuss the status of players," said angrily.  Bill Cowher
