Wallace (6-0, 199) was the second of three players selected by the Steelers in the third round (84th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Mississippi. He finished his career at Ole Miss ranked third all-time in touchdown receptions and fifth in receiving yards. Wallace also holds Ole Miss records for single game, season and career kickoff return yards.
Harris (6-4, 298) was selected by the Steelers in the sixth round (205th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Oregon. He played in 36 career games for the Ducks, recording 65 tackles (39 solo) and four sacks. Harris’ best season came in 2008 when he made a career-high 13 starts and led the defensive line in tackles for loss.
Shipley (6-0, 298) was the first of two players selected by the Steelers in the seventh round (226th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Penn State. He started the final 39 games of his career at center. Shipley received first-team honors from ESPN, the Football Writers Association of America and the Walter Camp Football Foundation during the 2008 season.
Wallace, Harris and Shipley bring the total number of signees among the Steelers’ 2009 draft class to six, joining cornerback Keenan Lewis, cornerback Joe Burnett and running back Frank Summers, who each signed with the team last week.
The Steelers also announced today they have released six players, defensive end Jeff Bradley, long snapper Mark Estermyer, wide receiver Jayson Foster, wide receiver Cedric Goodman, quarterback Kevin McCabe and fullback Ryan Powdrell.
