Ht: 6-2 Wt: 256
Position: OLB
Date of Birth: 07/31/1981
Experience: R
College: Northwood University (MI)

Biography:
Roper was signed to the practice squad after the 2004 final cuts but St. Louis claimed him to their 53-man roster. The Rams later released him and the Steelers signed him to their practice squad in September, releasing Nathaniel Adibi to make room for him.

Dedrick Roper signed with the Steelers in 2004 as an undrafted free agent. As a senior at Northwood (in Michigan), Roper made 65 total tackles, led the conference with 19.5 tackles for loss, was second in the conference with 10 sacks and forced three fumbles. He was named first-team All-Conference by the coaches and second-team All-America by Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

After the season, Roper played defensive end in the Whataburger Cactus Bowl, a Division II all-star game, and led his team with three solo tackles and seven total tackles.
