| Todd Fordham was the victor in the battle with Oliver Ross for the starting right tackle spot, which was vacated with Marvel Smith's move to left tackle.
The Steelers signed offensive tackle Todd Fordham as an UFA in March 2003. He was signed to a 3-year deal after left tackle Wayne Gandy left the team via free agency. He’d played both sides at tackle during his 6 NFL seasons prior to becoming a Steeler and also provided depth at guard. His NFL career started as an undrafted free agent of Jacksonville.
2002: Fordham started 9 games at right tackle for Jacksonville.
2001: Todd was signed by Denver as an UFA in the preseason but was released in the final cuts in September. Jacksonville resigned him in October and shortly after he became invaluable to the team after stepping in for the injured Tony Boselli at left tackle. He went on to start the final 12 games of the season at the position.
2000: (Jacksonville) In October, he stepped in at right tackle when Zach Wiegert was injured and started the remaining 8 games of the season. Todd was instrumental in Fred Taylor’s run of 9 straight 100-yard games.
1999: (Jacksonville) He sat out the season after suffering ligament damage in his left knee during summer camp.
1998: (Jacksonville) Todd was active for 11 games at special teams except for one start at right guard, in place of injured Rich Tylski.
1997: Todd was signed as an undrafted free agent by Jacksonville. He was cut and signed to their practice squad, then moved up to the active roster later in September.
At Florida State, Todd was an All-ACC second team selection and first team selection by Football News his senior year (offensive captain). He had a team-high 30 pancake blocks and gave up only one sack. He received an All-ACC honorable mention his junior year after not allowing a sack or QB pressure all season.
