| 2002: As in 2001, Alan earned a first team spot for the Pro Bowl as well as Associated Press All-Pro honors. His devasting ability to pull was a highlight of the Steeler running game's season. Alan was signed to a long-term contract prior to the start of the season.
Faneca was the number one draft pick of the Steelers in 1998 and has been a starter since the middle of his rookie year. He quickly earned a reputation as a devastating run-blocker. He was voted to the Pro Bowl in 2002. At Louisiana State, he was a 1997 All American first team selection and finalist for the Outland Trophy. He recorded an amazing 210 career pancake blocks during his college career. |
